Bentley, who is still just 26, wants to
leave White Hart Lane after falling out of favour with Harry Redknapp
in a bid to reignite his flailing career.
And the former Blackburn and Arsenal star has identified Anfield as his
first-choice destination amid speculation that Hodgson is considering a
bid in the region of £5million to take him to Merseyside.
Bentley has shown flashes of his talent since making the move back to
London from Ewood Park in a 2008 deal thought to be in the region of
£17million.
However, he has failed to justify his price tag and remains on the
fringes of the first team behind several of the club's other creative
stars including Luka Modric, Aaron Lennon and new signing Rafael van
der Vaart.
Hodgson is desperate to add a specialist winger to his squad and
believes for the price he is expected to command during the transfer
window, Bentley represents a bargain.
The former England international has started just one Premier League
game all season, and his exorbitant wages at Spurs mean the former
Fulham manager believes he can play hardball in negotiations over the

Roy: I'm angry but we'll improve
Roy Hodgson today demanded an instant
improvement from his Liverpool players after describing the Reds'
display at Newcastle as 'way below our best'.
Hodgson admitted he was left angry by the manner of his side's 3-1
defeat in the north east and held a team meeting at Melwood this
morning in which he called for a quick return to winning ways.
"I was saddened and certainly angry with our performance because in
recent weeks we have shown we are capable of playing good football and
we were looking like a very solid and strong unit," Hodgson told
Liverpoolfc.tv.
"Even though we got back into the game against Newcastle and then had
chances to go in front, because of our capitulation at the end I still
wasn't happy with the performance.
"I don't think the level of performance was what I was expecting right
from the first minute to the 90th minute. There were far too many poor
performances and as a result that led to a poor team performance.
"We've had quite a long get-together with the team on that subject and
everyone agreed with me that it was a performance way below our best
and we can't afford those type of performances.
"We had a few right at the start of the season which put us on the back
foot and then some good performances got us onto the front foot and
that's where we have got to stay.
"We know we have to improve our performances away from home. There is
an element of confidence, we can't deny that, but basically I don't
think we've been strong enough physically and strong enough mentally
away from home.
"If we are going to improve upon our woeful away record it will be
because we have become more physically and mentally stronger. We have
to adopt a harder core to our performance and make us harder to beat
and then we won't concede the type of goals when all the opposition
goalkeeper has to do is kick a long ball into the heart of our defence
and then there's a goal chance.
"We have got to make certain we stop any vulnerability with that simplistic type of play.
"We have got to work hard on the training ground and to be fair to the
players, even after a very long meeting today, a long post-match
analysis and quite a lot of critical words aimed at the team's
direction, out on the field they worked extremely hard and I think
that's what will get us through bad periods in the long run."

香港時間10月13日晚，英國 高等法院判決希斯同基列敗訴，NESV(新英格蘭 體育風險投資公司)將能繼續操作收購紅軍的行動。NESV透露，他們與利物浦 董事會存在一份「約束性協議」，因此他們將會成為利物浦的新班主。
在法院宣判後，NESV發表了一份聲明，來自新加坡 富豪不會影響他們搶到利物浦的所有權。
這份聲明透露，利物浦主席布萊頓與NESV達成共識，如果英超聯 盟和英國高院批准利物浦能夠出售，那麼該球會將由NESV收購。

利華古遜前鋒傑斯寧的經理人透露，利物浦已上門詢問該名身高1.94米的德國國腳的轉會情況。
在接受《圖片報》採訪時，傑斯寧的經理人證實了來自紅軍的興趣，他並不排除傑斯寧1月份轉會的可能。
經理人說：「最近幾週，AC米蘭、利物浦、史浩克04和卡山魯賓都在諮詢傑斯寧的轉會問題。
「目前還沒有正式報價，要看利華古遜怎麼說，他可能在1月份被賣出。」

New England Sports Ventures currently owns a portfolio of
companies including the Boston Red Sox, New England Sports Network,
Fenway Sports Group and Rousch Fenway Racing.
Martin Broughton, Liverpool FC Chairman, said:
"I am delighted that we have been able to successfully conclude the
sale process which has been thorough and extensive. The Board decided
to accept NESV's proposal on the basis that it best met the criteria we
set out originally for a suitable new owner. NESV's philosophy is all
about winning and they have fully demonstrated that at Red Sox.
"We've met them in Boston, London and Liverpool over several weeks and
I am immensely impressed with what they have achieved and with their
vision for Liverpool Football Club.
"By removing the burden of acquisition debt, this offer allows us to
focus on investment in the team. I am only disappointed that the owners
have tried everything to prevent the deal from happening and that we
need to go through legal proceedings in order to complete the sale."

Kuyt issues fan apology
Dirk Kuyt today apologised to supporters
following the home defeat to Blackpool - and issued a defiant message
that Liverpool will soon be battling at the right end of the table.
The Reds suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Ian Holloway's spirited
side, who snatched two Kop end goals in the first half before
containing a Reds assault in the second.
Kuyt admits it was one of the most frustrating days of his Anfield
career - but the Dutchman is certain he and his teammates can drag
themselves up the table over the coming weeks.
He said: "It was really, really disappointing - probably one of the
hardest defeats I've had to take since I've been here and we're sorry
for the fans.
"The first thing we have got to do is make sure we start winning games again and then we can begin to take things from there.
"It is still early days for the manager and we have to keep working but
one thing I do know is that we will come back stronger for this
experience."
Kuyt has now joined up with Holland's squad for their Euro 2012
qualifiers with Moldova and Sweden and will therefore have to wait two
weeks to put his words into action.
He added: "It's frustrating that we have got the international break
now because we will have this result hanging over us and everyone in
the dressing room wants to put it behind us as quickly as possible.
"We know this result has not helped but we just have to try and focus on the spirit we showed in the second half.
"We have got to make sure we show it in the next game."

貸者)借錢，他找到投行布萊克斯通旗下的放貸支部，希望能融資買斷吉列手中的股份，只是這次借錢要比他倆欠皇家蘇格蘭的更多，將近2.8億英鎊，其中包含
極高的壞賬罰金。
據說布萊克斯通在利物浦球迷暴風雨般的電郵抗議下，不敢冒大不韙與希克斯合作，拒絕了他借錢的要求，事實上，該投行是在分析了各種因素後，覺得風險極大，
決定置身事外。這個消息讓利物浦董事會深受鼓舞，3名董事在融資和出手一事上和東家翻臉，今夏已經拒絕過一次類似的運作，希克斯和吉列只有將他們炒掉才能

馬爛狗：我無愧於利物浦
【商台互動體育組】擾攘了多時，阿根廷中場球星馬斯真蘭奴終於如願離開利物浦，加盟他夢寐以求的球隊巴塞隆拿，離開戰鬥了3年的晏菲路球場，「小馬哥」只吐出了一句：「無愧於利物浦！」
上輪英超賽事利物浦作客曼城終以0:3敗走，賽後被指罷賽的馬斯真蘭奴成為了輸波的代罪羔羊，受盡了紅軍球迷指摘及隊友的杯葛，之後的第二天，「小馬哥」以1,800萬鎊轉會費從利物浦轉投巴塞，結束了這宗傳聞已久的轉會消息。
07年由時任紅軍領隊賓尼迪斯從韋斯咸引入的「小馬哥」，在今夏賓帥離隊轉執國際米蘭教鞭後，便被新任領隊鶴臣所棄並將其放諸轉會市場，但因為標價
過高而令國米「棄購」，猶幸在轉會窗臨近關閉前，雙方球會就轉會費達成共識，而「小馬哥」也甘願減薪兩成，接受巴塞開出的8萬鎊周薪，以完成這宗交易。

Yossi Benayoun has barely got one foot in the door and seems to have done his best to have his arse kicked back out of it already!
As
we all know, part of every new Chelsea player’s initiation at the club
is to endure feeling a right pillock by standing up in front of the
entire first-team squad to sing a song but when it came to Benayoun’s
turn, the ex-Liverpool man took the subtle approach to settle himself
in with his team-mates – by belting out YNWA!
Benayoun says “I started with You’ll Never Walk Alone. They stopped me in the middle and so I moved into a song in Hebrew, my language, so it was OK.”
I’m
not sure ‘ok’ is how anyone else in the room would have described it
but I’m sure he’ll be on the end of plenty of payback during the season.

Thomas Muller包辦金靴獎、新人獎
德國隊或許沒能拿到冠軍，不過小將穆勒（Thomas Muller）在這次世界杯大放光芒，包辦進球王的金靴獎、與最佳新人的獎項。

歲的穆勒在德國隊的六場比賽中，共攻入五球，與另三名球員並列榜首。西班牙隊的比利亞（David Villa）、荷蘭隊斯內德（Wesley
Sneijder）、烏拉圭隊的弗蘭（Diego Forlan）同樣都是五球，依照國際足聯（FIFA）的規定，由助攻數高的穆勒勝出。
金靴獎從首屆世界杯就開始設立，原本只比進球數，直到1994年美國世界杯兩名球員並列金靴獎，國際足聯因而決定更改規則。首先比進球數，如進球數相同，再比助攻次數；若再平手，最後比進球效率，出場時間最短者，就贏得金靴獎。
在同樣是五球的情形下，穆勒的三次助攻最多，金靴獎由他拿下。另外三人都是一次助攻，但比利亞的上場時間最少，獲得銀靴獎，冠軍戰失意的斯內德拿到銅靴獎，弗蘭則因為上場時間最多，排名第四。
最佳射手只有五球，這也是世界杯歷史上第二低的數字，只有1934年義大利世界杯和1962年智利世界杯的四球更低。
此外，穆勒還獲得最佳新人的獎項。既然是金靴獎得主，又幫助德國隊踢進最後四強，毫無疑問地把最佳新人獎一起包辦。

Marseille release Morientes from contract

Veteran Spanish striker Fernando Morientes is to leave Ligue 1 club
Marseille after the last year of his contract was cancelled by mutual
consent.
The former Real Madrid, Valencia, Monaco and Liverpool forward had
struggled to command a regular place with the French champions and last
season made just 12 appearances, scoring one goal.
A three-times Champions League winner while in Madrid, the 34-year-old also scored 27 goals in 47 appearances for Spain.
Morientes could be heading for Mexico as his agent has claimed interest has been shown in him by the club America.
