Liverpool FC to sign Arda Turan from Galatasaray?

Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Galatasaray winger Arda Turan



The 24-year-old can play either as an attacking midfielder or as a left
winger, the latter of which is seen as a priority position for the
Premier League club to strengthen over the summer.



According to Caughtoffside, Reds boss Kenny Dalglish and director of
football strategy Damien Comolli have earmarked a move for the Turkey
international as they look to continue rebuilding their squad for next
season.



Chelsea and Newcastle, along with Juventus, have also shown interest,
but Turan was quoted as saying about a possible move: "Liverpool
attracts me because of their tradition.



"In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them."



At 24, Turan would fit in with Liverpool's vision of bringing in new
players who would not only add some extra quality but would also lower
the average age of the squad.



Liverpool's new owners are keen on signing players who would have a
re-sale value, while Turan would also give the Merseysiders some
much-needed pace and width in midfield.



Galtasaray will reportedly be looking for around ￡17million - a fee
which Liverpool are in a position to pay as they look set for a busy
summer of activity in the transfer market.
